Program Objectives for the Bachelor degree in Hotel Management-Hotel Management

The hotel management bachelor program has been developed in response to the increasing competitiveness, complexity and diversity of the Hospitality and Tourism industries. It aims at developing future leaders who make farsighted strategic decisions with a specific focus on sustainable development for Hospitality and Tourism sectors.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the program the students will be able to:

  1. Develop creative, artistic and critical social and interpersonal skills that are essential for a career in the Hospitality and Tourism industries, which also provide solid ground for successful advancement in one’s career.
  2. Reflect on the knowledge and skills acquired to develop the students' own leadership style, and reach their personal and professional potentials.
  3. Display an understanding and awareness of important concepts and trends in hospitality such as diversity, cross-cultural, ethical and moral dilemmas and environmental issues.
  4. Apply the skills and knowledge acquired in real life situations.
  5. Analyze, examine, and evaluate the impacts of trends affecting the hospitality industry.
  6. To know how, when and where to seek additional information, to adapt the students' knowledge to different circumstances and to supplement them with multiple resources that can provide insight for wise decisions.
  7. Labor diligently with solid work ethics and high morals, good cross-cultural communication skills, cultural awareness and teamwork.

Program Objectives for the Bachelor degree in Hotel Management-Events Business Management

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the program the students will be able to:

  5. Demonstrate leadership skills, time management skills and task management skills necessary for one’s own success.
  6. Demonstrate a new and open minded approach to Event Management.

Program Objectives for the Diploma degree in Culinary Arts

By the end of the program the students will be able to:

  1. Apply the basic principles of sanitation and safety in the food service operations.
  2. Reinforce and practice standards in behavior, personal hygiene habits, grooming and dress that reflect the mature work attitude expected of industry professional.
  3. Value cross-cultural perspectives that will allow students to effectively function in the global community.
  4. Value ethical practices in both personal and professional situations
  5. Integrate knowledge, skills, and practices required for careers in food science, dietetics, and nutrition in hospitality, tourism, and recreation.
  6. Develop skills in knife, tool and equipment handling and operate equipment safely and correctly.
  7. Apply principles of food preparation to produce a variety of food products.
  8. Evaluate styles of leadership and develop skills in human relations and team work, and personnel management.
  9. Demonstrate awareness to maximizing nutrient retention in food preparation and storage.

Program Objectives for the Hotel Management Diploma

The Hotel Management Diploma Program aims to provide training, skill development and education needed to prepare individuals for effective job performance in the hospitality industry.

By the end of the program the students will be able to:

  1. Understand the general concepts and terminology of hotel management, as well as the basic foundations of dealing with guests, offering complete hotel services and application of hospitality administrative and technical procedures.

  4. Understand the management functions of hospitality industry including human resources management, financial management, marketing and technology applications.
